# 24 The End Is Finally here!!!!

What a long and tedious, yet wonderuful journey the " 24 things" were. I always thought I was somewhat up to date with the technology these days, and Oh how wrong I was!

During my adventures, I stumbled and with out the help of fellow colleagues, I may have never gotten up on my own. So I thank all those who helped me get through this journey.

Now that I know their are soooooooooooooooooo many "things" I can do on line, my laptop has become my next best friend. I guess those days of telling my kids to get off the net are officially over.

My all time favourite of all these "things" is Facebook. I use this :) and my kids get a kick out of it when I post notes on their walls. Also, Flicker is really fun!

Now, I can not wait for my hard earned Ipod, so that I actually have a motivation to get up and get onto my treadmill!

# 6 and # 22 Google Reader

Upon subscription of different sites on Google Reader, one can receive immediate access to the information of their wants without having to search forever on line. I use my Google Reader personally for acess to news. The library staff, and the public can use this also for fast an easy heads up on information such as popular news feeds.

A Podcast is a special type of RSS feed. Podcast is audio or audio + visual data files. These are distributed on the net by basically anyone, and may be transferred to protable media players (such as iponds) and to computers aswell. A Podcast that I found interesting is called "Synapsenight's podcast" which is about music on line (including techno...which I find Horrible to the ears) that is pretty cool to have access to, and surely my kids would enjoy it. Check it out on my Google Reader account if you are interested for some "hard core" music.

#13 On Library 2.0 & Web 2.0 ...

Library 2.0 is a set of guides enabling the library to meet the needs of the patron in their modern lives. For example, "during the print era" as Rick Anderson mentions in his "Away From the Icebergs", a collection of scholarly articles in print where accessible only to people that made the trip to the library. Now that their is the internet, Anderson says that we must integrate our serivces another way into patrons lives. I completely agree. The library must recognize how quickly our world is advancing technologically.

#11 Getting not-so-technical with Technorati

Technorati helps one search for blogs in the blog directory. It makes it easy to find what one is looking for. The tab under discover lists things to read such as news, sport, entertainment and business. The top 100 blogs is an interesting asset to Technorati.

#5 More flickr fun

I enjoyed using flickr and fixing some coloring of pictures. It is an easy and fast website to use. One flickr mashups that intrigues me is the photo mosaic program.
Another mashup which is useful is google map.
