news feeds

Finding news via search tools such as google blog search and topix.net is delightful, easy and fun. All the search tools are relatively simple and user friendly. Googles search tool, for example, is quick and easy for finding news feeds on. Some useful feeds that I found on my travels were the weather, global news, and crafty recipes.

snow again!

Today is Feb 24, and we still see snow. This afternoon was snowing.

Can you blieve it?

# 20 Askaway

Askaway is one of my favourite online resources. It is easy, helpful and most are offered at popular timeslots for people to ask their questions live from a librarian.

I believe this kind of online interaction is of need for todays busy lifestyles. Not going to the reference desk everytime to ask a question simplifies matters for many of us. Best of all, Askaway is offered by both public and academic libraries across British Columbia. I can Speak for many of us when I say that if I was offered this source while I was doing my undergrad, my research would have been much easier.

Databases

Wow! what a wonderful experience it was for me to navigate the databases and discover such a wide scope of information, FAST! I located search buttons easily in the databases where I placed in a search, and voila! Information relative to my search poped up.

I think the database would be useful for everybody. For example, those interested in statistics can simply navigate the statistics database. kids in school could make good use of them for school projects, and even for math help :)

# 18 Office '07

Microsoft Office Word 2007 is a more professional, and informative version of the past office software. The '07 version is what I am use to using, and have been using it from the time it was initially introduced into the market. I truly appreciate all the Microsoft Office '07 softwares (office powerpoint, word, etc) and encourage everybody to give them a try.
